Mavin Records boss Michael “Don Jazzy” Ajereh set X (formerly Twitter) buzzing after a loyal fan finally got the Christmas opportunity she had been praying for – and then took it to another level entirely.
The fan tweeted that her wish was for Don Jazzy to ask what she wanted for Christmas, promising not to be greedy. Amused, the producer quote-tweeted her, warmly thanking her for always engaging with his posts and asking, “What do you want?”
When the reply came, it turned into what Don Jazzy later called an “everlasting expenses” request. The lady asked him to help clear some outstanding debts before year end and also support the launch of her Mercy Foundation, a charity she hopes will pay weekly dialysis fees for kidney-failure patients, inspired by her late brother’s illness.
Don Jazzy, stunned but playful, responded that her request was beginning to look like a lifetime financial commitment on someone else’s pocket and joked that she should “pity this boy.” His response triggered a flood of memes and mixed reactions on X – some users accused the lady of being greedy, while others argued that she simply shot her shot and used the moment to chase something bigger than herself. The episode also revived conversation about how generous Nigerian celebrities should be expected to be with fans online.
