According to reporting by **The Guardian**, the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), has sealed an agreement with the Turkish government to deploy 200 Nigerian Special Forces personnel to Türkiye for advanced military training. This strategic move was finalized on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, following high-level discussions aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s counter-insurgency capabilities.

The training program is designed to expose Nigerian troops to sophisticated tactical maneuvers and modern warfare technology. Beyond personnel training, the deal includes a framework for joint defense production and the transfer of military technology, which is expected to enhance Nigeria’s domestic defense manufacturing capacity.
