The restrictive security measure was formally declared by Governor Umaru Bago after an assessment visit to Tashar Bako, where severe confrontations between the Kamuku and Fulani ethnic demographics resulted in multiple casualties and significant property damage.
The state executive directed security architectures to enforce total compliance with the curfew, aimed at isolating instigators of the violence and preventing retaliatory attacks. Administrative machinery has been deployed to de-escalate tensions, while humanitarian assessments are underway to address the immediate needs of displaced residents.
State officials have issued warnings that individuals violating the curfew or stockpiling illegal weapons will face direct prosecution under emergency security protocols. The government has also initiated local peace committees in a bid to foster dialogue between leadership factions of the aggrieved communities.
