Reporting by Premium Times indicates that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates. Out of the total candidates evaluated across the nation, 61.54 per cent secured credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The examination board disclosed that while the overall pass performance reflects steady academic standard retention, a percentage of candidate results remain withheld pending investigation into reported instances of examination malpractice. Digital access portals have been opened for candidates to check their individual scores.
Validating the announcement, Daily Post quoted the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria National Office, Amos Dangut, who declared during a press conference that “a total of 61.54 per cent of candidates obtained credit and above in minimum subjects including English and Mathematics.” Furthermore, Vanguard confirmed the development, noting that “candidates who sat for the 2026 diet can now check their results using the examination council’s online portal and mobile verification channels.”
