Premium Times reports that Cross River State cancelled a disputed local-government recruitment exercise and approved a fresh process for 4,000 positions.
A government inquiry reportedly identified missing approvals, job racketeering and breaches of public-service rules, making transparency in the replacement exercise the central test.
Punch described the former process as “fundamentally flawed,” while Peoples Gazette reported that the state approved “fresh 4,000 jobs.”
Echotitbits take: The next test is execution: timelines, transparent reporting and public access to the underlying decisions will matter more than the announcement itself.
