Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun has once again sent fans into wedding speculation mode after revealing the exact song he wants at his big day – and the artiste he wants performing it live. During a recent Apple Music radio appearance with Asake and DJ Tunez, Wizkid said he wants Asake to perform “Remember” at his wedding.

Wizkid explained that Asake’s breakout track “Omo Ope” turned him into a fan from first listen, but it is the more reflective “Remember” that stole his heart and earned a permanent place on his imaginary wedding playlist. The Starboy boss called the song “an amazing record” and told Asake directly on air that it has to be played on his wedding day.

Big Wiz did not stop at song choices. He went on to shower Asake with heavy compliments, describing him as one of the most special vocalists in Africa and even the world. According to him, Asake’s voice is a blessing to African music and proof that the new wave of Afrobeats talent is here to stay.

This is not the first time Wizkid has teased an upcoming wedding, and social media users again joked that Starboy has been “planning” this wedding for years. Still, his comments have added fresh fuel to fan fantasies about a high-profile Starboy ceremony – with Asake on the mic and “Remember” as the soundtrack.

  • Portable Claims He Has Helped More People Than Olamide, Davido And Wizkid

Portable Claims He Has Helped More People Than Olamide, Davido And Wizkid

Street-hop star Portable is stirring the waters again after boldly declaring in a fresh interview that he has helped more people than heavyweights Olamide, Davido and Wizkid.

Speaking on a televised entertainment programme, the controversial singer boasted that his street charity and constant support for the young boys around him beat anything the bigger stars have done. The comments were clipped and shared online, where they quickly exploded into a full debate.

Many social media users laughed off the claim as classic Portable drama and started listing scholarships, giveaways and life-changing opportunities linked to the three superstars. Others argued that the singer has also put upcoming artistes and crew members in the spotlight and deserved some credit for that.

As usual, the conversation ended up bigger than the quote itself, touching on visibility, receipts and how to measure who truly does the most for the streets. One thing is certain though: Portable has once again turned a simple chat into prime timeline content.
