In an interview shared by **The Guardian**, Manchester United legend and current coach Michael Carrick revealed that Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has made a final decision to leave the club at the end of the 2025-26 season. The veteran midfielder is expected to pursue a move to the Saudi Pro League or the MLS.
**The Athletic** corroborated the report, stating that United’s management has already begun scouting for a long-term replacement in the defensive midfield role. “Casemiro’s decision is final; he feels it is time for a new challenge,” Carrick reportedly stated on April 27. **Daily Mail Sport** also weighed in, quoting an insider: “The club respects his contribution, but both parties agree that a fresh start is best for the rebuilding process.”
Casemiro was a “bridge” signing that brought much-needed winning mentality to Old Trafford, but his declining physical stats this season have made his exit inevitable. His departure will free up massive wage space for United, but replacing his experience in the dressing room will be the real challenge for the “INEOs” era management.
