In an update published by Leadership, the Nigerian Army has executed a sweeping administrative shake-up affecting several tier-one leadership positions within its internal structure. The expansive redeployment, which received formal approval from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, targets various General Officers Commanding (GOCs), strategic brigade commanders, and top-tier staff officers.
The reassignment strategy is aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and injecting fresh tactical perspectives into the military’s ongoing internal security campaigns. The restructuring has immediate legal effect and alters the command dynamics across major military formations, elite training schools, and tactical defense institutions throughout the federation.
