Reporting by Nigerian Tribune indicates that 4,765 of 7,961 domestic flights operated in Nigeria during August were delayed, representing 59.9 per cent of the total, according to data from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
The figures point to a significant punctuality problem across the domestic network. The report lists several airlines among those covered by the regulator’s data and notes that delays were substantially more common than cancellations.

The two accounts corroborate the scale of the reported delays. The main qualification is that monthly delay statistics do not by themselves establish a single cause for every disruption; weather, aircraft availability, airport operations, air traffic constraints and other factors can all contribute.
