In an update published by the Federal Ministry of Information and reported by The Guardian Nigeria, diplomatic representatives from Nigeria and Ghana have concluded strategic agreements to jointly counter anti-immigrant protests and Afrophobic sentiment targeting West African citizens across the continent.
The agreement was finalized during a high-level diplomatic session involving Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Ghanaian diplomatic envoys. Both nations resolved to establish rapid-response communication channels, promote intra-African trade protection, and safeguard diaspora populations operating within their respective borders.
Foreign ministry officials highlighted that regional cooperation is vital to maintaining economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework and protecting human rights.
