According to Leadership, the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, Nigerian Olympic Committee and IOC Olympic Solidarity programme have selected 35 swimming coaches for a technical course in Lagos.
The September 15–20 programme is designed to improve coaching knowledge, athlete development and modern technical practice from grassroots to elite competition.
Stronger coaching systems are a less visible but essential part of sports development, particularly in disciplines where Nigeria has historically had limited international depth.
Independent confirmation was limited during this review. No sufficiently independent second report was located, so no corroborating quotation has been invented.
Echotitbits take: The useful measure will be whether trained coaches spread modern methods into clubs and schools and help create a wider competitive pathway for young swimmers.
