In an update published by Punch, NNPC Limited plans to deploy between 50 and 70 smart self-service stations within six months. The model combines petrol dispensing with EV charging, LPG, CNG, digital payments and other mobility services, beginning with a solar-powered Abuja facility.
The development adds to a broader period of policy, market and investment adjustment in which financing costs, infrastructure constraints and regulatory execution are shaping outcomes for businesses and households.
The rollout signals a gradual shift from conventional filling stations toward integrated energy hubs. Execution will test consumer acceptance of self-service fuelling, the reliability of digital payments and whether EV and gas services gain enough demand outside major cities.
The Sun Nigeria also corroborated the development, describing it as “between 50 and 70 smart, self-service filling stations.” TheNewsGuru separately reported the same core development and used the phrase “plans to roll out between 50 and 70.”
