According to a production unveiling by Executive Producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, celebrated Nigerian-American actress and TV host Osas Ighodaro has secured the lead role in an upcoming cross-cultural micro-drama series titled “Imported Bahu.” The vertical-format show features Ighodaro alongside prominent Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall. The storyline focuses on a wealthy Indian man who travels abroad and returns home not with expensive gifts, but with a bold, confident Nigerian corporate titan, sparking intense family drama and cultural clashes.
Reporting on the official trailer drop, Punch Newspaper confirmed that the series represents a major step forward for international cinematic collaborations. In their entertainment breakdown, Punch reported that the show is set to debut on a brand-new medium, stating, “The producer also disclosed that the series will premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay.” Validating the actress’s character details, a report by Pulse Nigeria described how Ighodaro’s character, Zara Ogun, shakes up the conservative household, quoting the producer’s official project teaser: “A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
