According to an official corporate report by Marketing Dive, global beverage brand Sprite has launched an expansive new commercial campaign titled “The Living Tracklist” to honor decades of hip-hop’s global impact. The campaign seeks to establish an evolving, fluid canon of the rap genre’s most culturally significant tracks.
Developed in direct collaboration with song lyrics and music knowledge platform Genius, the project is anchored by a dynamic Spotify playlist designed to be openly debated and altered by fans over time. To craft the foundational baseline, Sprite formed a “Cultural Authority Panel” featuring heavyweights like Angie Martinez, Scottie Beam, and Rob Markman.
The massive marketing push will physically manifest on retail shelves through 26 limited-edition custom packaging designs featuring iconic lyrics spanning from the 1970s to modern chart-toppers. Consumers can scan on-pack QR codes to unlock custom Genius lyric breakdowns and interactive storytelling portals.
Highlighting the historic nature of the brand partnership, 360 Magazine published an official corporate statement from Chris Keyes, Creative Director for Sprite North America, who stated that “The Living Tracklist is the truest expression of that commitment to intentionality… built with the people who shape the culture.” Concurrently, lifestyle tracker The Stable verified the rollout details, confirming that the initial list features foundational tracks ranging from “Rapper’s Delight to modern anthems like GloRilla’s TGIF.”
### Echotitbits Take
Sprite is brilliantly doubling down on its decades-long historical equity within hip-hop culture rather than just riding temporary digital trends. By transforming everyday aluminum cans into collectible art pieces and utilizing interactive QR codes, the brand is successfully gamifying retail sales while capturing the attention of Gen Z music purists.
