According to Vanguard reporting, members of the Itsekiri ethnic nationality from across Nigeria and the global diaspora are gathering in Warri, Delta State, for the historic Itsekiri Global Homecoming event.
The cultural gathering coincides with the 5th coronation anniversary of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, bringing together diaspora delegates, traditional leaders, and development partners to foster socio-economic integration.
Organizers emphasized that the week-long homecoming initiative focuses on establishing structured diaspora investment networks, supporting youth empowerment programs, and preserving Itsekiri cultural heritage and language traditions.
