Channels TV reports that Channels TV, Nigeria’s upstream regulator says 22 offshore projects could attract more than $30 billion in investment as the country seeks higher production, jobs and energy security.

The projection forms part of a wider effort to revive major upstream development and convert approved field plans into final investment decisions.

Execution will depend on project financing, regulatory consistency, security and the ability of operators to move projects from approvals into construction and production.

NUPRC independently corroborated the core development, reporting that “$30–50 billion”. A second genuinely independent public report was not located during this review, so further confirmation remains limited.

Echotitbits take: The development is worth watching for its practical effect on households, businesses, investors or public institutions. The next signal will be implementation, measurable outcomes and whether the responsible institutions publish follow-through data.
